Adam Dilworth
Managing Director
Adam started in the produce industry at just 14 years old, stacking produce shelves at the local supermarket after school. After completing a three-year Produce Managers Program, Adam started work in the Melbourne Produce Markets. Then, in 1987 at 21, he took the quantum leap and moved to Queensland, where he began working in the Brisbane Produce Markets. Over the last 35 years, he has held several positions from Forklift Driver, Stock Controller, and Quality Controller to Produce Buyer and Management roles.
In 1993 he started a business called Australian Fruit Brokers to fill a niche gap, providing top-quality produce to independent supermarkets. Then, in 1996, he merged this business with Doug’s company, forming Fruitlink. Adam is passionate about selecting and buying processes and managing supplier relationships within the marketplace. Outside work, he enjoys fishing, outback travel, camping, AFL and dining out!
Doug Rylance
Director
Doug was born and raised in Brisbane and spent his younger years holidaying at his grandparents’ farming properties on the Western Downs. During his first four years out of school, he worked as a jackaroo on huge Cattle Stations in the NT and East Kimberley, WA region, where he developed his love for the agricultural industry. By chance, during a wet season, he began labouring in the Rocklea Markets for a fledgling business established by legendary grocery man John Berry whose father started “Jack the Slasher”.
After about a year, a change of direction allowed Doug to take on the business with just eight customers! Doug renamed the company Fruitlink and has been busy building the business and brand for the last 30 years. In between all of this, he also completed his Post Grad Certificate of Agribusiness at University. Doug is passionate about high quality and service, the cornerstone of our business philosophy, and why we have endured the decades in a very volatile and competitive industry. Outside work, Doug spends time with his wife CJ and three fantastic sons.
